                                    This RSEQ 2024-25 men’s basketball showdown saw McGill come out fast, scoring seven unanswered points early on, thanks to contributions from Luis Micourt and Sean Herscovitch. Concordia, however, quickly responded, ending the first quarter on top (15-13). Their momentum carried into the second period, where relentless rebounding—finishing with a 45-28 edge overall—allowed them to head into halftime up 34-27. 
 The visiting side’s offense flowed notably through Jaheem Joseph, who scored 22 points, including several key baskets to halt McGill’s potential comebacks. Junior Mercy chipped in 14 points, converting 9 of 12 free throws. For McGill, Georges Lefebvre led the team with 14 points, showcasing his ability to finish at the rim, but issues at the free-throw line (17/26) and limited second-chance opportunities hindered their rally. 
 As the third quarter closed, Concordia extended the gap even further (19-13 in the period), fueled by opportunistic defense and efficient ball movement. McGill tried to close the gap from beyond the arc, with Herscovitch knocking down timely threes. However, Concordia’s depth and composure under pressure prevailed. 
 The final stretch saw Concordia engineer a decisive 23-14 run. A brief 8-0 spurt sealed the contest, leaving no doubt about the outcome. The officiating crew, led by Francois Brouillette, kept the game moving smoothly. With the temperature hovering around -2°C outside, the action inside McGill Hall remained heated until the final buzzer. Concordia’s 76-54 triumph cements its position as a top contender, while McGill will seek adjustments for the upcoming matchups.
